Hats will be distributed to Wisconsin families with infants during the months of November and December along with information describing a normal period of crying in the first few weeks and months of life.

    Hats must be made from soft-to-the-touch, washable yarn, 50% or more of any shade of PURPLE. They must fit a 14" head and be 6" high.

   We are now accepting knitted or crocheted shawls, afghans, lap robes and baby blankets. If you prefer a smaller project, make 7" x 9" blocks that can be put together to make an afghan. Please use machine washable/dryable yarn.

   You may drop off items at the Frederic Public Library, Remax Assurance realty office in Siren or mail them to: Konnie Didlo, 1428 345th Avenue, Frederic, WI 54837.

We will find a home for your knitted or crocheted projects!

We are seeking donations of knitted or crocheted PURPLE baby caps for our campaign:

   We will be accepting donations at the Extravaganza for the following items: blankets, sheets, pillowcases, coffee mugs, socks, backpacks and reading glasses. Pillowcases will be used to make dresses for girls in Africa. Other items will be sent to a shelter in Minnesota.

   Do you like to knit or crochet but find that your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews have all they need at this time? If so, we will find a home for your projects!

   Hats and mittens will be given to local schools, shelters and organizations. Baby items will be given to young mothers in need and a pregnancy help center.

   Items may be dropped off at the Frederic Public Library, Remax Assurance realty office in Siren and the Washburn County Register newspaper office in Shell Lake. You may also bring items to the Knitting and Crochet Extravaganza in September.
